'renegade regency'

Fashion designer Victoria Webster's Toronto Victorian is a fearless display of her colorful personality. She borrowed "bright colors and eclectic furniture from 20th century decorator Dorothy Draper and current style-setter Kelly Wearstler's revival of Hollywood Regency". I like the contrast between the classically shaped furniture and the bright hues and super shiny surfaces. The orange lacquered dining room walls are wild - "it took 12 coats of paint and 2 coats of glaze to get the desired sheen" - and probably not something I would want in my own home, but I love the sense of drama they create. The color carries through well onto the orange rubber floors in the kitchen (not shown here).

P.S. LOVE Canadian H & H by the way - I think it's one of the best shelter magazines out there.
