cocktail hour {the sidecar}

This image inspired this week's cocktail - the sidecar. Thought to have been invented during World War I in Paris, the sidecar is a no mess, no stress cocktail. There are many variations, but here's a basic recipe.

sidecar

- 1 1/2 oz bourbon or cognac
- 3/4 oz cointreau
- 1/4 oz lemon juice

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

early spring fashion 2010 {urban outfitters}

I like the UO early spring look book a lot. I don't always love their clothes - I do love the silk floral blouse below! - but the styling, photography and layout here is really nice. I love all the soft colors and the retro vibe - both in the fashion and interiors. UO does offer some cool home stuff too - which I've talked about here before. Check out this blouse, this bag, this girly shower curtain, and this rug.
