trend report: military chic

lindsey and i watched the dutchess recently which is fabulous on so many levels but if i could pick only one it would of course be the wardrobe.

i love period piece movies for this exact reason and it still never ceases to amaze me that so much of what we wear today has been influenced by the past and reworked over and over again by the fashion industry. military/utilitarian inspired clothing is so interesting to me for that reason and it is definitely one of my favorite trends. the reason why i like it so much is because it's easy to incorporate a little bit with a small accessory here and there or to go all out with an entire wardrobe inspired by the trend. these are some of my favorite pieces that i've seen.
