cocktail hour {a day late!}

Woops! I've been so busy with my move home that I didn't get a chance to post a cocktail recipe yesterday. Here is an oldie (but goodie) that will be sure to warm you up as the fall weather sets in.

manhattan

- 12 oz sweet vermouth
- 8 oz rye
- 2 oz grand marnier
- 16 dashes of angostura bitters
- 8 orange or lemon twists
- ice

Fill a pitcher 2/3 full with ice. Add the vermouth, rye, grand marnier and bitters. Stir 30 seconds to chill. Strain into 8 chilled martini glasses and top each with a citrus twist.

* fun fact - angostura is a bitter (alcohol with bittersweet flavorings) from trinidad & tobago made of water, alcohol, gentian root and vegetable flavoring extracts
