My favorite girls at In the Pink in Andover have changed up the salon a bit and it looks fabulous. We took a few new pictures for the website last week - here's a sneak peek.

photo shoot {charlestown: kitchen}
Here are a few images from the contemporary Charlestown kitchen I photographed last week! The space is so clean and modern, and the finishes (metallic tile and tortoise granite!) are funky and unique. AND there is a private deck off this kitchen/living space with a sweeping view of Boston and the waterfront - amazing.

photo shoot {charlestown}
We're wrapping up the shoot in this space next week so I wanted to share a few more pictures from day 1 first. As I mentioned, the lighting was challenging for me (all of these were done manually, sans flash or tripod) but overall I'm happy with how they turned out. The place is gorgeous!

photo shoot peek
I had the amazing opportunity to photograph another project for my friend and designer, Nikki Dalrymple, this week in Charlestown (so fabulous!). Shooting interiors is so much fun because it combines two of my favorite things - photography and design. It can also be really challenging, though, and I have a ton to learn. I'll post more pictures soon, but for now here's a tiny little peek. Have a beautiful weekend!

more photo shoot pics
Here are a few more of the photos I took over the last couple of weeks for Nikki's portfolio. It was beyond fun and I love how the images turned out... hope you do too!

photo shoot peek
Today I'm wrapping up an interiors shoot with my friend/previous boss, Nikki, of the North End boutique, ACQUIRE. It's been so fun helping her style and produce the shots, and thanks to her fab design skills, everything is turning out gorgeous! Today we're shooting a modern Beacon Hill bachelor pad - will share more pictures next week!

back to work
I feel like summer went by in an instant. It was fabulous - many hours spent in the sun, by the pool, with my friends and family - and very few hours spent working. But now that we're past Labor Day I really need to focus on getting my shit together. My to do list for fall: SERIOUSLY focus on my career, volunteer, update my fall wardrobe, and continue working on my apartment (try some kick ass projects and give my bedroom a complete overhaul - I love this image for inspiration). Before we know it, kids, 2011 will be here.

apartment updates {dining room}
Our dining room continues to be a work in progress... it feels like every day I move something around to see if it will work. This week I decided to try the ladder shelving that was in our office as a place to hold dishes, linens, wine, etc. in place of the small side table I bought for bar space (I decided it was too small on top and moved our 'bar' to the sideboard instead). I like that the ladder is a little unexpected (it needs to be 'styled up' a bit) while adding some height. Instead of dressing up my white linen drapes I've decided to leave them as is for now - they're very light and airy, which I love. I painted the front panels on the sideboard a shade darker than the walls (the entire thing WILL get painted eventually) and now I'm on the lookout for some sexy hardware to dress it up. Our craigslist table is serving it's purpose, but I'd love to buy something more modern down the road like the parsons dining table (in polished white, of course) from West Elm. Overall the space still lacks a little color, but I know some flowers, new accessories and maybe a fun new lamp will help with that.
upcoming projects:
- paint our sad little office chairs (bottom image)
- make office pillows with the green + white fretwork fabric I ordered
- paint the back of the shelving in our entryway
- paint the raised panel between the windows in our kitchen with chalkboard paint
- hang more artwork (we finally ordered more pictures this week yay!)
Hoping to accomplish at least some of this over the weekend...

pretty things {twig hutchinson}
It's Monday morning, the sun is shining... and I'm exhausted. (Seriously hoping that my morning iced coffee will kick in soon). To start off the week I am loving these images from Twig Hutchinson's portfolio. They evoke a sense of calm and are proof that the simple, everyday things, can be the most beautiful.

some serious eye candy {lonny V}
Is it just me or does Lonny get better and better with each issue? There is so much inspiration in Lonny V that I couldn't possibly share it all here - instead I've tried pulling together a few of my favorites. All images by Patrick Cline for Lonny Magazine.

interior inspiration
there is something about wall art that makes me so happy and while these photos may show artwork that looks somewhat haphazardly placed, there is definitely a method to framing and hanging art and photographs to look like the pictures below. enjoy!
