design star winner {emily henderson}

I only watched Design Star sporadically this season, but made sure to tune in for last night's finale and am psyched that Emily is this season's winner. I liked Emily's fun and carefree personality and vintage/modern design aesthetic from the start and I think she'll be a much needed breath of fresh air at HGTV. As a professional prop stylist for Domino, Martha Stewart Living and Real Simple, everything she touches is gorgeous, and I love her idea of doing a show which incorporates a persons style into their lifestyle. It's Monday morning, the sun is shining... and I'm exhausted. (Seriously hoping that my morning iced coffee will kick in soon). To start off the week I am loving these images from Twig Hutchinson's portfolio. They evoke a sense of calm and are proof that the simple, everyday things, can be the most beautiful.

bloomingdale's big window challenge

I wish I could see these in person because I feel like a little photo doesn't do much justice... but I have to say I think Eddie's window ('Modern Woman' - media mogul and mother of 2) for Elle Decor is my favorite.
