a gender-neutral nursery

My sweet friend Kate is having a baby at the end of the month and she and her husband have decided not to find out the sex of the baby beforehand. I don't know if I could do it (I think I might be too much of a control freak...ha) but I think it's exciting that they're keeping it a surprise. I snuck a peek at her nursery and it's a beautiful, buttery yellow, with dark wood furniture, which will transform easily for either a boy or girl. Another color palette that I love incorporates varying shades of green (celadon, chartreuse, apple) with chocolate brown, soft blues and pops of yellow. It's soothing with a touch of whimsy.

Kate - I couldn't be any happier for you... I have no doubt that you will be the most fabulous mommy!

a baby dress inspired nursery

I posted last week about Khloe's adorable pink and orange zig zag dress and how it could translate into a really cute nursery. Here's a little inspiration:

csn stores review!

Last Monday I posted about an upcoming review for CSN Stores. Well, in less than a week I chose the item to review, ordered it, and received it!

I decided to pick a gift for baby Khloe from CSN's site: all modern. I love DwellStudio's animal pillows and decided on the elephant in pink and brown (the opposite side is brown and white stripes - not shown here) because it fits in the theme for Khloe's nursery. Even though she was getting a little aggravated with her auntie taking tons of pictures of her - she's loving her new elephant!

Ordering from all modern was so easy and the service was excellent. I will definitely use the site again and would recommend it to anyone looking for great modern furniture, accessories and of course, baby items!

designer {krista ewart}

Yesterday I shared a mini home tour of a California beach house designed by Krista Ewart. Afterwards I decided to visit her website and fell in love with her style - casual and colorful, with just the right amount of glamour. Here's a peek at her work:

upcoming: review for csn stores

I'm super excited to be doing a review for CSN Stores in the coming weeks. CSN Stores has something for everyone with over 200 websites offering everything from dining room tables, to cookware, to shoes and more. Plus, they are a Boston-based business so it's great to support a local company.

Being a new auntie I am constantly on the look out for cute baby clothes and accessories - specifically fabulous items for the nursery. I love CSN's all modern store, which carries tons of great modern furniture, including a wonderful selection of modern cribs, changing tables, bedding and nursery decor. Here are just a few of my favorite things:

Can't wait to share the item that I choose to review - stay tuned!

baby khloe is here!

I'll be a little absent from blogging this week because my niece was born yesterday! She is adorable and doing great so far (as are mom and dad). Uncle Pat, on the other hand, is still in a bit of shock. Are we really grown ups now?? Yes, yes we are...

check out how cute it looks backed with
wallpaper/graphic paper... would love to order one for
the nursery! more nursery inspiration here}

PS - Khloe was 5 lbs 4 ounces and born at 9:34 AM, but you get the idea:)

etsy {elephants}

I love looking for nursery art (among other things, of course) on Etsy. Aren't these elephant prints cute?

room of the day {nursery}

So many things to love about this space... the exposed ceiling/brick, the crystal chandelier, the gridded gallery wall and pretty pink details...

some serious eye candy {lonny V}

Is it just me or does Lonny get better and better with each issue? There is so much inspiration in Lonny V that I couldn't possibly share it all here - instead I've tried pulling together a few of my favorites. All images by Patrick Cline for Lonny Magazine.
