paint winner {medium gray}

I went with Martha Stewart Cement Gray (such a beautiful name, I know). I'm so happy it's done and there's no turning back (at least for now).

bedroom wall color

I might have found my wall color... it's Martha Stewart's Wrought Iron. I'm loving the contrast against the white frames below.

cocktail hour {the blizzard}

As someone who loves coffee I'm always game to try a cocktail with a little java in it. Espresso martini's are one of my favorites, but I had a "white chocolate truffle" recently at Nebo and it was pretty darn good. This recipe via Martha isn't spot on, but it's similar. SO perfect on a frigid day like today.

the blizzard cocktail

- 1 1/2 ounces irish whiskey or rum
- 1/2 ounce hazelnut liqueur
- 1/2 ounce Bailey's
- hot coffee

In a glass mug stir together whiskey, hazelnut liqueur and Bailey's - top with hot coffee.

strawberry-basil iced tea

We're heading to a family pool party this afternoon, but I wanted to share a recipe for yummy strawberry-basil iced tea with you first. Happy Sunday.

cocktail hour {martha's mimosas}

C and I have a breakfast club with two of our good friends and this weekend I'm hosting at my apartment. I absolutely love mimosas with breakfast/brunch and this recipe looks amazing. We may just have to officially test it out on Sunday...

martha's mimosas

- 6 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons orange flavored liqueur, such as Grand Marnier
- Prosecco, chilled
- fresh mint leaf

In a Champagne flute, mix together orange juice, lemon juice, and liqueur. Fill with Prosecco. Garnish with mint leaf and serve immediately.

cocktail hour {another one from martha}

Is it bad that I chose this one purely for the styling? I love the geometric napkin and cucumber detail. No time to post the full recipe - Bruins playoffs baby!

cocktail hour {how to set up and stock a home bar}

Martha Stewart was on the Today Show this morning showing neutrals from her new paint line for Home Depot so she's been on my mind ever since. And since P and I are going to set up home bar in our new apartment (if we ever get around to it) I thought why not share a little home bar advice - and of course Martha's got it. The essentials: cognac, white rum - or gold, for dad - gin, bourbon, vodka and tequila. And for a little lesson on barware and glassware, visit Martha here.

hermes orange

This beautiful (and pretty unexpected) orange foyer via Martha Stewart has me dreaming about...

lovely little lacquer boxes dressed in orange and black:

and maybe a slice of pumpkin pie?
