once again, spring is upon us and for me, spring means dining outside, drinks during the day, the beach, and fun times with friends. in boston, spring also means opening weekend of the sowa market. located in the south end of the city, the market gives an opportunity for local designers, artists, bakers, and more to showcase their products and sell to the public. opening weeks is may 15 and 16 from 10am - 5pm, with free admission and parking.

the sowa open market, boston's original outdoor weekly artisan market dealing in art, indie design, antiques and food. "an eclectic mix of antique collectors, emerging designers, local jewelers, artisanal bakers, greengrocers, and painters all sell their wares in a lively environment that provides a great excuse to stay in the city on a summer weekend." - lucky magazine. open every sunday from 10-4, this event located in the south end on harrison ave is something different that boston has to offer and it seems well worth checking out if you plan on staying in the city!

poe's kitchen at the rattlesnake

looking for something to do now that the weather has FINALLY gotten nice?? the rattlesnake bar & grill recently received a menu update from chef brian poe earlier this year and the food is great, while being surprisingly affordable. the southwestern style menu features fare such as tempura fish tacos, chile rellenos, aztec taco salad, and my favorite, the grilled tuna sandwich. for those of you who enjoy dining al fresco, the rattlesnake does have a roof deck with a full bar and complete menu.
