My brother and his girlfriend (Khloe's mommy and daddy) are getting married next summer. The ceremony and reception are going to be at my parent's house so it will be very simple and pretty. I started a board on pinterest to gather inspiration images. Here are some of my favorites so far.. (also for my future wedding, ha!)

The roomie and I needed a small armchair for the apartment and we scored big at homegoods yesterday. This little lavender chair with tufting and nailhead was only $270 and it's surprisingly comfortable.

thinking about fall...

i will post all about my trip to atlanta a little bit later in the week when i can upload my photos but i want to do a little post on some things i'm thinking about for the fall. this morning when i walked to the train it felt like such a nice early fall morning when the air feels kind of crisp but the sun is still shining on your face, warming your body. it made me realize that fall is absolutely my favorite season and although the summers in boston can never last long enough, i am definitely excited for fall.

DIY octavia headboard

I'm moving into a new apartment this weekend so I have been busy with some painting and DIY projects. The sideboard I bought at Brimfield a while back is now BRIGHT turquoise, which I'm hoping will be fun against an exposed brick wall. Also, I ordered my first queen sized mattress and couldn't be more excited to have my own, super comfy bed. I love the Octavia headboard from Serena & Lily but could never afford the $1,500+ price tag so my brother's girlfriend and I took a trip to Home Depot and Joanne's to try and create a similar version of our own. Sketching out the pattern and adding all the nailhead trim was a labor of love, and it's far from perfect, but we're pretty proud of how it turned out. In memory of my sweet baby niece that passed away in July I am doing my bedroom in lavender (purple was one of her favorite colors,) gray and white. Very pretty and serene I hope.

atlanta in the summertime

i'm leaving for atlanta tomorrow to visit my parents and sister and this will be my second time in atlanta. the first visit i had was all about the restaurants and scenery close to my parents' apartment in midtown (very cool area) but this time i'd like to be able to check out some cute boutiques and see how the style differs from boston. and of course, i cannot miss an opportunity to visit piedmont park (literally next door to my parents' apartment) and its amazing dog park.

when someone passes away, it's so difficult to try to move on with your life and keep up with the rest of the world, let alone get through the day. it's also hard to move on from something like this in our blog, when posting about clothing and trends can seem so silly when you're hit with a tragedy. instead of talking about trends for the fall and what i have on my wishlist, i wanted to take a minute and post a few things that remind me of khloe and of how great lindsey was as an auntie.
